AstraBit Is the Software, Not the Exchange

This page is for people who already use Bybit derivatives and want to automate how they trade there. Here’s who handles what.

  • The exchange

    Bybit

Holds your funds, verifies your identity, sets its own fees, and decides who is eligible to use it. Your account is with Bybit, not AstraBit.

  • The decision-maker

    You

You decide whether to trade, which strategy or signals to run, and how much risk to take. You’re also responsible for confirming you’re allowed to use Bybit derivatives.

  • The software

    AstraBit

Sends the trade instructions you’ve configured to your account through an API key you create. It can’t withdraw or transfer funds, and it doesn’t recommend that you trade on Bybit or any other exchange.

The Basics

What Is a Bybit Trading Bot?

A Bybit trading bot is software that places and manages orders on your Bybit account automatically, following rules you define, so you don’t have to enter every order by hand. AstraBit’s Bybit integration supports USDT perpetuals and inverse perpetual contracts from your derivatives account.

Your bot is one of AstraBit’s automated crypto trading bots and runs through an API key you create on Bybit. Your funds stay in your Bybit account, withdrawal and transfer permissions stay off on the key, and AstraBit only sends the trade instructions your settings call for. From the AstraBit dashboard, you monitor your positions, orders, and P&L.

What Are the Different Ways to Use AstraBit with Bybit?

One API connection, three ways to use it: automate a published strategy, bring a strategy you’ve already built, or place orders manually.

Automated

Marketplace Strategies

Choose a published Verified Strategy from the AstraBit Strategy Marketplace and link it to your Bybit bot. Its signals execute on your account automatically, with no coding required. Automation applies rules consistently; it doesn’t reduce the risk of the underlying trades.

Strategies are created by independent third-party Strategists. A listing is not a recommendation or endorsement, and results are not guaranteed.

Automated

Bring Your Own Strategy

Already have a system? Connect a custom strategy in any language or send TradingView alerts via webhook. AstraBit handles execution on your Bybit account.

Manual

Manual Trading Dashboard

Prefer to trade yourself? Open and close Bybit positions from the AstraBit dashboard, alongside your other connected exchange accounts, with charts, orders, and P&L in one place.

Running bots on other exchanges too? With copy trading, one Advanced bot acts as your Master and your other bots follow its trades, even on other exchanges. A Follower can only copy a pair its own exchange offers, and losses copy too.

Getting Started

How Do I Connect My Bybit Account to AstraBit?

If you already have a Bybit account, connecting it takes three parts: create an API key, switch to One-Way Mode, and add the key in AstraBit.

Bybit is not available to U.S. persons. Check Bybit’s terms to confirm you’re eligible for derivatives trading before connecting.

Part 1 · Create your Bybit API key

  1. Open API Management on an eligible Bybit account

Log in to Bybit, click your profile icon, and go to API Management. New to Bybit? Signing up through our referral link makes you Freemium-eligible.

Referral disclosure: AstraBit earns a commission from Bybit based on your trading volume when you register through this link, and a portion may be returned to you as credits. This means AstraBit benefits financially from your trading activity. See how credits work.

  2. Create a system-generated API key

Click Create New Key and choose System-generated API key.

  3. Set the key’s permissions

Enable Read and Contract Trading. Leave Withdrawal and Transfer off; AstraBit never needs them. Choose the permission set that matches your account type (Standard or Unified Trading Account).

  4. Confirm and save your keys

Complete email and authenticator verification, then copy your API Key and Secret Key. Bybit shows the Secret Key only once; if it’s lost or exposed, create a new key.

Part 2 · Switch to One-Way Mode

  1. Set Position Mode to One-Way

On Bybit’s Derivatives trading screen, open the Position Mode settings and choose One-Way Mode. Hedge Mode isn’t supported for AstraBit strategies.

Part 3 · Connect in AstraBit

  1. Add the key in AstraBit

In Nexus, go to Exchanges → Connect Exchange → Bybit, paste your keys, choose Perpetual Futures, and leave Position Mode and Margin Type on auto-sync. Then set up your first bot with our step-by-step guide: How to Create a Crypto Trading Bot.

Set Up Your Bot

Before You Connect

  • An eligible Bybit account with access to derivatives
  • Position Mode set to One-Way Mode (Hedge Mode isn’t supported)
  • A balance of roughly $50–$100 in your derivatives wallet, so AstraBit can detect it and place orders reliably
  • API permissions: Read + Contract Trading, with Withdrawal and Transfer off

Your account type (Standard or Unified Trading Account) determines which permission options you’ll see on Bybit.

What Should You Know Before Using a Bybit Trading Bot?

A bot makes trading easier, but it doesn’t make it risk-free. Here’s what we’d want to know if we were in your shoes.

Check Your Eligibility First

Bybit sets its own rules on who can use it. Bybit isn’t available to U.S. persons, and derivatives trading is restricted in some other countries. AstraBit doesn’t decide your eligibility; confirm it under Bybit’s terms and your local laws before you connect.

AstraBit Doesn’t Pick Your Trades

The software executes the strategy, signals, or manual orders you choose. It doesn’t advise you on what to trade, which exchange to use, or how much to risk.

One-Way Mode Is Required

AstraBit strategies on Bybit run in One-Way Mode, where each contract holds a single long or short position. Bybit’s Hedge Mode isn’t supported, so switch Position Mode before you connect.

Leverage Works Both Ways

Perpetual futures use leverage, so gains and losses are magnified, and positions can be liquidated quickly if the market moves against you. Trading them, automated or not, involves a significant risk of loss. A bot follows rules; it does not guarantee outcomes.

A Minimum Balance Helps the Connection

The connection guide recommends roughly $50–$100 in your Bybit derivatives wallet so AstraBit can detect your balance and place orders reliably. This is a technical requirement, not a suggested amount to trade.

Bybit Is a Centralized Exchange

Bybit holds the assets in your account and requires identity verification, which works differently from on-chain venues where you hold your own keys. Learn what a centralized exchange is, or read our guide to centralized vs. decentralized exchanges.

Freemium Program

How Do AstraBit Credits and Freemium Work?

There are no subscriptions on AstraBit. You pay for bots with AstraBit Credits at a daily rate, billed only after your bot’s first trade. If your Bybit account was registered through AstraBit’s referral link, a portion of the referral commissions AstraBit receives on your eligible trading volume may be returned to you as credits, which can offset some or all of your AstraBit costs. Credits depend on your actual activity and are not guaranteed.

How AstraBit is paid: AstraBit earns referral commissions from Bybit based on the trading volume of accounts registered through our link, and returns a portion to eligible users as credits. This means AstraBit benefits financially from referred accounts’ trading activity. AstraBit doesn’t tell you which exchange to use or how much to trade; those decisions are always yours. Credits are not cash, have no cash value, and are not transferable.

  1. Create your AstraBit account

Registration is free, and completing onboarding tasks can earn credits. Here’s how.

  2. Connect an eligible Bybit account

Accounts registered with AstraBit’s referral link qualify for applicable loyalty benefits.

  3. Credits accrue on eligible activity

A portion of eligible commissions is returned to you as AstraBit Credits.

  4. Apply credits toward platform costs

Credits apply 1:1 toward eligible bot and strategy fees.

1 Credit = 1 USD. Billing starts after your first trade. Stop anytime by deleting the bot.
Bybit referral link (Freemium-eligible)

Auto Top-Up (optional): If you turn it on, AstraBit will automatically charge your saved payment method whenever your credit balance falls below a threshold you choose (from $5 to $100). You also choose the top-up amount, with a $25 minimum per top-up. Charges continue each time your balance drops below that threshold until you turn Auto Top-Up off under Billing & Subscriptions. To stop all charges, delete your bots and turn off Auto Top-Up.

Commission rates are set by each exchange under its own affiliate program terms and may change at any time. Credit eligibility, accrual, and redemption are subject to program terms. Credits do not expire but are non-refundable and are forfeited if your account is closed. See the full Freemium + Loyalty Program terms.

  2. 2Add your Bybit API key

AstraBit provides trading automation software and is not affiliated with Bybit. Nothing on this page is a recommendation to trade perpetual futures or to use any particular exchange, and AstraBit does not provide investment advice. Bybit is not available to U.S. persons, and not all exchanges AstraBit supports are available in every jurisdiction; you’re responsible for making sure your use of any connected exchange is permitted where you live. Trading perpetual futures involves a significant risk of loss and may not be suitable for all investors. Leverage magnifies both gains and losses. Automation does not assure profits or protect against losses. Past performance of any strategy is not indicative of future results. AstraBit earns referral commissions from some connected exchanges; see program terms. Credits are not cash and have no cash value.

FAQ

Bybit Trading Bot Questions

What is a Bybit trading bot?

A Bybit trading bot is software that places and manages perpetual futures orders on your Bybit account automatically, based on rules you define. On AstraBit, the bot connects to your Bybit account through an API key you create. It can follow a marketplace strategy or run a strategy you’ve built yourself, and you can also place manual orders from the AstraBit dashboard.

Is AstraBit part of Bybit?

No. AstraBit is independent trading automation software and is not affiliated with Bybit. Bybit is a separate centralized exchange that holds your funds and sets its own eligibility rules and fees. AstraBit connects to your account by API and executes the instructions you configure. It doesn’t recommend that you trade on Bybit or any other exchange.

Can U.S. residents use AstraBit with Bybit?

Bybit is not available to U.S. persons, so U.S. residents can’t use AstraBit’s Bybit integration. AstraBit’s technology also works on other supported exchanges; check each exchange’s terms for availability where you live.

Does AstraBit hold my Bybit funds?

No. Your funds stay in your Bybit account at all times. AstraBit connects through API permissions that allow trade execution only, and withdrawal and transfer permissions stay off on the key.

Why does Bybit need One-Way Mode?

AstraBit strategies on Bybit are built for One-Way Mode, where each contract holds a single long or short position at a time. Bybit’s Hedge Mode, which allows a long and a short on the same contract at once, isn’t supported. Switch Position Mode to One-Way on Bybit’s Derivatives trading screen before you connect.

How does AstraBit connect to Bybit?

Through an API key. In Bybit, open API Management, create a system-generated key, enable Read and Contract Trading, and leave Withdrawal and Transfer off. Then paste the API Key and Secret Key into AstraBit’s Nexus dashboard under Exchanges → Connect Exchange → Bybit. The step-by-step guide covers the full setup with screenshots.

What do I need before connecting Bybit to AstraBit?

An eligible Bybit account with derivatives access, Position Mode set to One-Way, and an API key with Read and Contract Trading enabled. The connection guide recommends a minimum balance of roughly $50–$100 in your derivatives wallet so AstraBit can detect your balance and place orders reliably.

How much does a Bybit trading bot cost on AstraBit?

Opening an account is free. Bots are paid for with AstraBit Credits (1 credit = $1 USD) at a daily rate, and billing only begins after your bot executes its first trade. Daily rates are 0.33 credits for Basic, 0.66 for Standard, and 1.33 for Advanced, or about 9.90 to 39.90 credits over 30 billable days. A Nexus tier is in development; its planned rate (1.99) and features may change. These prices cover AstraBit’s software only; Bybit charges its own trading fees. If your Bybit account is registered through AstraBit’s referral link, eligible activity may earn credits that offset some or all of your AstraBit costs. AstraBit earns referral commissions on that activity. See the Freemium + Loyalty Program for details.

Can I use my own strategy or TradingView alerts?

Yes. You can connect a custom strategy coded in any language, or send signals from TradingView to AstraBit via webhook. AstraBit receives the signal and executes on your connected Bybit account. See how to connect a custom strategy.
