This guide explains how to connect your ByBit account to AstraBit using API keys so the two platforms can communicate securely.

The steps cover where to find API settings on ByBit, how to create and configure keys, and where to enter that information in AstraBit.

This article does not provide trading advice and is only for technical setup.

Users who register for ByBit through this link for the first time are eligible for the Freemium plan, where you can earn credits based on trading volume to help reduce or cover costs associated with AstraBit products or services.

PRIOR to attempting to connect your Bybit Futures account to your AstraBit Nexus account via API, please ensure:
  • You are trading with USDT Perpetuals or Inverse Perpetual Contracts
  • You have a minimum balance of $50–$100 in your derivatives wallet
  • One-Way Mode is enabled on your account

Part 1: Create ByBit API

Step 1: Open API Management

  1. Log in to your Bybit account
  2. Click your Profile icon
  3. Navigate to API Management

Step 2: Create New API

  1. Click Create New Key
  2. Select System-generated API key

Step 3: Configure API Permissions

Enable:

  • Read
  • Contract Trading (Derivatives)

Disable:

  • Withdrawal
  • Transfer

Account Type Settings (IMPORTANT)

Standard Account

  • Select appropriate permissions for Standard Account

Unified Trading Account

  • Select permissions for Unified Trading Account

Step 4: Confirm API Creation

  1. Complete:
    • Email verification
    • Google Authenticator (if enabled)
  2. Copy:
    • API Key
    • Secret Key
The Secret Key is only shown once. Save it securely.

Part 2: Enable One-Way Mode (Required)

Step 5: Set Position Mode to One-Way

  1. Navigate to your Derivatives trading screen
  2. Locate Position Mode settings
  3. Select One-Way Mode

⚠️ Attention:

Hedge Mode is NOT supported for AstraBit strategies.

Part 3: Connect Bybit API to AstraBit

Step 6: Set Position Mode to One-Way

  1. Log in to AstraBit Nexus Dashboard
  2. Navigate to Exchanges → Connect Exchange → Bybit

Enter:

  • API Name
  • API Key
  • Secret Key
  • Contract Type → Perpetual Futures
  • Position Mode → Auto sync from exchange
  • Margin Type → Auto sync from exchange
  • Click Connect

API Configuration Requirements

Ensure your Bybit API is configured with:

  • Read enabled
  • Contract Trading enabled
  • Withdrawal / Transfer disabled
